I have been remiss in not writing this letter of appreciation for all you and your staff have done for me. Moving from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to La Paz, Bolivia, with an added stop in Olympia, WA, would certainly tax the logistical skills of any organization.
You and your company handled our move with aplomb and professionalism. The companies you worked with in both countries were wonderful. Mongol Express and InBolPac both conducted themselves well, were courteous, packed and moved our items with speed and care.
The Principal of our elementary and middle school has also used Rainier Overseas Movers. She moved from Tacoma, WA to Lagos, Nigeria and then to Seattle. She too has nothing but praise for your work and efforts. In fact, she is storing her items with you and is confident of their safety and well-being.
The life of an international educator includes many moves. The items we acquire from around the world are important to us. The items we bring from “home” also give us a sense of place. I apologize for not responding to your email earlier. We’ve been slowly unpacking all the boxes and getting everything organized in our apartment. It’s been fun in the sense that our daughter Isabel had an early Christmas since she hadn’t seen most of her treasures for over a year.
Now to our report on the move:
State on Arrival Rick, almost everything arrived undamaged, unmarked and in its pre- shipping condition. There were two plates that were damaged and that was it. But please note that the two plates were not, for some reason, in the original box with the other plates and so the damage was really our error, not the movers. Absolutely nothing was missing from our shipment. All cartons were accounted for and all of our belongings were in the cartons. You may also want to note that everything in the shipment arrived dry and there was no mildew in the books, photographs or artwork even after being in storage for over a year. I’m guessing that Balderas has a very good warehouse system. Shipping Companies The personnel from Balderas were punctual, courteous and very conscientious in packing and transporting all our possessions, both in Mazatlan and Mexico City. The Gil Stauffer team was equally punctual, courteous and professional. It was a pleasure and a relief to work with both the Balderas and Gil Stauffer teams. And of course, it has been a pleasure to work with you. We have appreciated your very responsive and rock-steady support throughout the process of moving. Rick, if you ever have a potential client that would like to talk to past customers, please put them in contact with us. However, hopefully, you won’t be hearing from us for many years.

I wanted to thank you, Avner, and Rainier Overseas Movers for an outstanding moving experience your firm provided for us when we came to Budapest in May of 2011. The movers on the Berkeley end were professional, experienced, and efficient. They took care of our precious items, crated and packed as promised, and were finished in one day. Avner even returned the next day and reopen the sealed container to include a couple of small, but important items we had overlooked in the initial packing. On the Budapest side, we had no idea how delivery was going to be accomplished since we live in old Budapest, which is very crowded with limited parking. They brought our items in small loads, unpacked everything and even assembled our new bed for us. Nothing was damaged, all items were accounted for, and were easy to find. Again, the movers were courteous and professional. The entire experience was as stress free as we could have hoped for. My wife and I have spent our lives living all over the world, have moved countless times and have never had such great service. Thanks again and we will certainly use your organization when we move again and we’ll recommend it to our friends. As a matter of fact, at this writing, a colleague is also using your service, moving to Budapest on our recommendation.

I had an EXCELLENT service from FOS. The service was really the best I could expect.
In particular Davide Occhione was always super super fast to reply to my emails, almost realtime. He did help me with paperwork for customs, and he was very accurate on “what we need to do to make a quick customs procedure”.
they gave me quick updates about the status for my goods in customs and expected delivery, more or less every 15 days.
The day of the delivery they contacted me on my cellphone, they gave me an ETA of 5PM, and indeed there were at my apartment on time.
The whole procedure was really smooth, in a matter of 30min I had all my stuff in my apartment.

My move with Ranier Overseas Movers has been nothing but pleasurable
– from the initial inquiry (on short notice) to the final unboxing at my new
apartment in Singapore. In short, I would gladly recommend your company to
anyone doing an international move.
As stated in an earlier e-mail, the three gentlemen that packed my items in
California were efficient, careful, and courteous. They even repacked some of
the items I had packed myself, which might not otherwise have been accepted at
Singapore customs. They also carefully labeled every box, which I am
appreciating as I now slowly unpack (at my own request) boxes one by one. I
also appreciate how they stuffed the boxes tightly with packing paper so that
loose items wouldn’t jiggle around.
The shipment spent approximately 6 weeks at sea, which is likely a normal
duration when going half way around the world. Three gentlemen were
responsible for moving my items into my new apartment. They did so very
quickly without disturbing any of the existing furniture and did not leave the
floor dirty even though it was raining heavily outside. Since I requested
that the boxes not be opened, they stacked the boxes in strategic locations
that did not impede access to doors, light switches, etc.
My items arrived in excellent condition, and there were no traces of water
damage, which one might expect given the 6 weeks at sea plus a few days at
customs in the tropics.
Thank you for your excellent service. If I ever need to move from Singapore,
I will definitely contact you again.

Move went quite well and everything arrived. BoonMa shipping was very helpful and always
courteous. Apparently either customs or the shipping line required Boon Ma to totally unpack
the original shipping container and repack into another container. They delivered all goods right
to the house but the movers were poorly equipped to unload things safely. They had no flat
dolly or ramps off of the shipping container and many things were very heavy and difficult to get
down. I was concerned about their safety.

The last of our shipment arrived today and all things considered, I think it went really well. Yes, there were a few things damaged, but that happened at the port in Salvador. Thank you for all your help in arranging all the connections here in Brazil. As you mentioned before, this was your first move to an island and I think it was very successful.
I also want to thank Phillipe here in Boipeba for his professional organization and the
leadership role he carried out with shipping our things from the main land to the island
of Boipeba. Both crews of movers in Salvador and in Boipeba handled all our items
with the highest level of care and cooperated with us fully. Mind you this was no easy
move and all of the shipment had to be off loaded from a boat in chest deep water (see
pictures) and carried to shore, then carried by hand or wheel barrow to our home. This move brings new meaning to “door to door”.
Isabel, in Curitiba, kept us informed and was very quick in replying us back. I am very happy we chose Rainier Overseas Movers and had the good fortune to work with you.
Over the next couple of days as we unpack our boxes and furniture we will come up with pictures and a list of damaged items. Again I think the damaged occurred during the inspection and repacking of the container at the port in Salvador. Or because a few items were not repacked properly at the port they caught rain during a sudden down
pour at the beach. Again I understand those things cannot be avoided and that is why
we have insurance.

Thank you for your follow-up. Our shipment from the U.S. finally arrived at our new place in
Hong Kong a couple days ago. My husband and I are very happy with Rainier throughout the
whole moving process. You communicated with me many times before our packing day. On the
moving day, the movers came on time and packed everything professionally.The agent which you
guys assigned in Hong Kong was excellent as well. They were on time, polite, and very efficient.
Asking for tips in HK is a common practice. However, these movers refused to take it when I
offered. I was very impressed with their honesty.
Overall, it was a very highly rated experience working with you and your company. I will
recommend you guys to my friends without a doubt. I haven’t unpacked everything yet so
hopefully everything is intact. Otherwise, I will have to ask for your assistance for insurance
claims.

The move went extremely well. All in all it was surprisingly stress free. As you know, I was very happy
with everything at the US end. And I have to say that the guys at Britannia were excellent as well.
Only one bit of feedback really, and this is for the guys at Morgans. The screws that held together the
furniture that they dismantled were separated from the main pieces and put in separate boxes. Since
there were so many boxes, it was difficult to find the screws and build the furniture in England. A big
deal when you want to build your bed to have somewhere to sleep on the first night!
This could
have been solved easily by taping the screws to the big furniture pieces.
All in all a great experience at a very competitive price and I would definitely recommend you guys!

In addition, Mr. Yonai was very helpful in arranging the storage of my goods free of cost in his warehouse for about two weeks so that it will be delivered to me on the date that was convenient to me.
Mr. Nirav Thakkar and his crew did extremely well in custom clearance and transportation of shipment from Mumbai Port to my residence in Vasai. The job was performed in a very professional manner. I did not imagine custom clearance would be that easy.
The move was not easy. However, you made it very easy and I am very happy to say that it was accomplished in a very professional and timely manner.

Mission Accomplished: Today, July 14th, after only 6 weeks, I receive my container, as it had been anticipated the day before by Alpha International. What a pretty sight to see again my container in Sicily.
The container was still sealed (I checked the number) as it left my home in Waltham, Massachusetts. Everything was in order and the Italian crew unloaded the container and followed my instructions with no problem at all.
I have been overwhelmed with anxiety and apprehension throughout this ordeal, but now I finally have the satisfaction that everything went well, as it had been assured. This was my first overseas moving experience and I was uncertain as with the packing, loading, shipping and unloading process, but it turned out to be a very positive experience, thanks to the professionalism of Gentle Giant, Rainier Overseas , and Alpha International.
I wish to thank you and all the people involved, for your professionalism and courteous service. In particular I wish to thank the people at Gentle Giant, Javier and his crew, for handling their part with exceptional care, dexterity and speed. Watching them take care of my goods, carefully wrapping everything (even a single battery removed from a clock) and loading the container with balanced precision, well stacked side to side, front to back, had given me the assurance that my property could have traveled to the moon. Bob Lane, you are a charming agent with a very friendly and assuring disposition. I had the assurance that Rainier and Doug Wiviott were very experienced in overseas moving and their track record speaks for itself. I did not know much about the moving company in Naples, but throughout the correspondence with Giusy Nocerino and lately with Marco, I knew that my goods were in the hands of highly competent people. The unloading and unpacking performed by Alpha’s crew led by Giuseppe, was uneventful and smooth. They were courteous and skillful.

A final follow-up and commendation of excellent service -
All of our boxes are finally unpacked and we have settled in well in Cape
Town. The service from Rainier Overseas Movers has been superb from start till
end. All of our administrative and other queries were answered / dealt with
swiftly and to our satisfaction. My partner was happy with the packing service
in Germany (very thorough and efficient packing and wrapping!), and the
shipping service was well within schedule considering it was over the
Christmas period of 2010. The deposit of the goods in Cape Town went smooth
after sorting out a glitch with the local agent responsible for clearing and
delivering the goods at the final destination
- they were under the impression they could charge full cargo/service fees to
me whereas those fees were already covered by the payment(s) I made to Rainer
prior to that. The last of the debris were swiftly collected two weeks ago
after we finally finished unpacking.
Value for money was also excellent (granted – no removal is cheap, but
compared to other removal service providers, the quote we got from Rainier was
the best) which was an important factor for us, since we had to support the
costs of the removal 100% ourselves and was not company-sponsored.
Rainier Overseas Movers gets our highest recommendation.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I had been travelling on work for the few weeks now.
The move to Dubai from Minneapolis was very smooth. The team in Minneapolis came promptly on the specified date and time and did a very good job of packing up the remaining items and then loading them all into the container.
Similarly when the container arrived in Dubai, the process was pretty smooth. It took a bit longer to clear thru the customs here due to backlog on the customs side (as the week before my things arrived had been a week of Islamic holidays) and hence I had to pay for a couple of days of storage.
The car was cleared first and was delivered, but the battery was completly drained, we could not even jump start it. That was very surprising to me as I had had my car fully serviced and checked just 2 weeks before it was loaded on the container in Minneapolis. So there was additional unexpected charges of getting it towed and fixed on this end.
The other items were delivered a couple of days later and the team that did the job here were very efficient and capable.
It was overall a very smooth move from Minneapolis to Dubai. I am very glad that I chose Rainier for my internatinal move. I was very happy with your service from the day I spoke to you about getting quotations. Your responsiveness and knowledge made all the difference.
I will surely use your services in the future if I move back to the US. And will surely recommend your services to any of my friends who may need it in the future.

The team in DC were a little surprised, I think, by how much stuff we had to pack, and it took them longer than they expected, but they worked from 10am to 6pm with no breaks to get us packed and loaded! We were very pleased with their work, since it allowed us to keep our
schedule. The moving team here in Germany were super-efficient and despite a small language barrier, they were really friendly and helpful, and got us in our apartment in fewer than 4 hours. Our place is on the 4th floor, too, which meant they had to ferry our larger pieces of furniture up so many flights. After all the unpacking, we found that nothing was broken, and everything made it here. Thank you very much for this excellent move, and we will think of you if we have to move overseas again!

When a parent dies and one parent remains in the USA and you live abroad, it can be a delicate situation. You might want to offer your remaining elderly parent to take a lot of “stuff” off their hands, and buy them some new things to use. This is what I did. And am still doing. My old mother could use newer furniture, and cash to pay her rent. She didn’t need all that old stuff, and never sent what she promised, but this is not the problem of the movers! We will work it out.
My brother in Ohio warned me that my mother was not coping well with the death of my father in 2009, and to delay the moving of things to France for nearly a year. I did so, and rushed her some cash. Rainieros waited patiently and listened to a lot of woe from me. Via email.
Rainieros were extrememy patient with me and my e-mailed rants! They used a local mover in Cleveland, Ohio named CORLETT and I did have to pay extra to have some jewelry retrieved and put in, with the clear understanding that they could not be responsible for its getting to me, but I did it and paid and they did it. I think I got it all, but do not expect this kind of stuff to get through, people. I was just lucky. You might have to hire a messenger.
Things were well wrapped and a British company picked up and took over. There was some delay with Customs, as they wanted me to clarify that this was just me, getting some family objects back after a death, and that many of these things had actually been mine or promised to me years ago. A lady named Karolina was most efficient, over in England.
I chose the slow method of shipping, which I recommend. It came a few weeks late, but so what? I was astonished with the care in the wrapping. A statue which was very fragile lost some edges, but is quite intact for the most part, and not a single piece of my grandmother’s china broke! Even the jewelry got here, but really, you need someone to carry this over to you here in Europe. I was lucky!
Only one piece was badly packed, and sure enough, it broke. Fortunately, it was just one of my pieces of artwork, and I was able to replace the frame and glass for less than 100 euros in France. The artwork itself was not harmed! Someone put it too close to the outside of the box, and it was not wrapped at ALL. But this was the only piece damaged! There was a gouge out of a table, but this might have happened in the USA, before, and I did not make a claim. Rainieros offered me a little compensation check, which I await, which I think is fair.
The movers who delivered were Brits and were cheery and asked for nothing. I gave them a place to wash up and a toilet to use, and sent them off with a small cash tip and some sandwiches. It did take hours to unpack it all, myself, and as they were double parked, they had to move on. My only problem is that they said they would email me next day and did not. I had a terrible problem with a mover, Delahaye, in 1994, and stuff went missing, was horribly damaged, and they tried to give me a set of skis which were not mine! Fortunately, with Rainieros, I seemed to get it all. What a relief!
There are still family squabbles going on, but Rainieros and their partners did their job! I was kept updated and I think the only thing I can think of is that some documents were not snail mailed to me in France, but only given to my old mother in Ohio, but this seemed to work out okay. A little better documentation via snail mail would have been useful, but things seemed to work out, anyway.
Again, I repeat, the stuff arrived and was carefully packed. The antique statue, this was a huge risk, and I am happy to have it mostly intact! The piece of artwork with the frame and glass broken, well, the artwork itself is okay, and I got a local person to reframe it. The small compensation check I think I will receive will cover this.
A lot can go wrong in moving! Especially, overseas! It costs a lot. Rainieros, Corlett and Karolina were very patient in listening to me freak out, via email. I had a little trouble reaching them in the USA, but it was not too bad. Email worked, but the phones sometimes didn’t. I don’t think they realize, toll-free numbers are not good, and we cannot make collect calls to the USA from France. The voicemail at Rainieros was not very well adapted to international calls, and the time difference of some 9 hours made things tricky. But once I got a human online on the phone, things went pretty much okay.
Many people need to move, domestically, or overseas, and many need to recuperate things once a death has occurred in the family. Good movers will be patient with you and listen to your gripes and woes, but they will show up on time, make the terms clear, and pack things very carefully, well wrapped up. It is a miracle that only the old statue was a bit chipped, and that only one frame was broken! I even got the jewelry, which they were not obligated to do. It was a risk to include this type of material.
I found all the movers who worked with Rainieros to be respectful and kind. They were not too hard to reach, but Doug at Ranieros got a bit fed up with my long emails full of family woes! He is very busy, and I understand.
I have willed my possessions to some people in the States, along with a little cash, and I hope they finally use Rainieros to get what they want shipped BACK to the States. It will be a huge challenge, as there is a lot of artwork and fragile items in question, records and all (vinyl). I really think that the things will be correctly packed and shipped as long as Rainieros is in charge, using local affiliates. Yes, it does cost money, but they cannot exactly “beam it up!” It is a question of customer service, of listening, of arriving on time, of packing things correctly . . . bear in mind, the deliverers are supposed to wait around for your confirmation, but this is often just not possible. I think my only criticism could be that the Brits should have given me a courtesy email a day later, as promised, and they never did. It takes hours and hours to unpack and verify things. They have to do this, but are often double parked and need to move along. They should have possibly asked for a tip to give them lunch, and come back an hour later or so? I don’t know. This is my only real criticism of the service. No doubt they were tired and had a long drive back to the port city. Perhaps I should have been more demanding, but I just gave them a few coins and some plain sandwiches to take away.
Do not use Delahaye! Use Rainieros! And Corlett! And Karolina!

We got done packing on the 6t of October. The goods were delivered on the 8th of December. Just about 2 months and right around your estimated duration.
The packing in the US was absolutely phenomenal. The only things that were damaged were a small chip on a small statue, a castor on one of the tables and a bent baking pan. The total estimate for replacing these items would be under $50 (Australian) so I am thrilled about the move. I have not yet plugged in my electronic equipment (220 V) which I purchased in the US so I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope they all work and were not mishandled.
Quarantine was cleared in 2 weeks. Customs took almost 2 additional weeks. This is where I’m being critical. Apparently there was a “query” from customs about my address. This was not known till I called Kent International and asked them what was going on. I called them on Tuesday morning. They figured out what was going on, answered the customs query and got the clearance within the hour. Had they contacted customs sooner, it would have been ideal. But Kent did their best to make up for the delay and delivered the goods the very next day. Overall, I am happy with their service, Especially the delivery. They had 5 guys who worked non-stop and were very good humored and accommodating. We have a bed that is a pain in the a$$ to dismantle and reassemble and they did it without a single complaint about how difficult the task was. I was really impressed by the work ethic of these guys – Vic, Brendan, Michael, Sean and Sam ( I hope I have their names correct). They unpacked everything!!! We requested that some of the clothes boxes be left unpacked because we need to find place for the stuff. They offered to send an unpacking crew out the next day which we declined. I will be calling them up after we’re done with the unpacking so that they can come by and pick up the packing material – This was at their suggestion. I highly recommend them for any of your future moves to Melbourne, Australia.

I hope this message finds you well. I thought I would send you an email regarding the above shipment. These days many people are quick to complain when things go badly but stay silent when things go well.
The shipment you packed and shipped arrived in the Uk in a very fast manner, too fast in fact as we didn’t have anywhere sorted for delivery but we managed to find storage so that was ok – in this case fast was good and the speed of arrival certainly exceeded our expectations. At the UK end the crew unpacked the container and moved in to the storage unit and organised and filled the space extremely effectively. I was out of the country at the time of delivery and was worried about it being delivered without me present but my fears proved unfounded as everything went extremely smoothly.
Now comes the best part, the quality of packing. As most people, I guess, we were worried about some of our delicate (and sentimental) items would/could be damaged in transit. The standard of packing by your crew was outstanding, everything, so far, has been unwrapped and not a scratch, crack, rip is present they are as good as when they were packed…great job!
I can certainly say that dealing with this shipment has been stress free and worry free and the reason is due to your team of professional people providing a standard of service which we never expected to received.

I just want to let you know that we are VERY HAPPY with the handling of our move by your company. The container arrived at our house on September 17th, and the University appeared to handle any and all customs related issues without any one of us ever going to the port. Your people here were very professional and handled the delivery quite well indeed. The container was unloaded in one day, and they setup everything the next day. A few remaining items which were not setup because some rooms of the house were not ready were handled a couple of weeks later.
Overall, nothing was broken or lost, except for a few trivial things (a lamp shade holder) that we must have thrown away when we unpacked the boxes.

FINALLY, I have found the apartment, and was allowed to move in. The group in England was super helpful, they let me store my possessions in England for a very low price while I apartment hunted. And they delivered the materials the exact day I requested.
Unfortunately, my apartment was not fully renovated as the landlords had promised, so I could not have the movers unpack the boxes, I asked them to stock them in one of the rooms. I will unpack next week and let you know if everything’s is okay. So far, everything has been amazing. Every box arrived. A testament to your efficiency…just before the movers left our apartment in San Francisco 5 months ago…I put a toilet plunger on top of the boxes that were set to move. The movers must have carried it away with them. It was not numbered, listed nor packed…and today in Paris, there it was, sitting on top of the boxes, my toilet plunger! That made me laugh. Now that is service!
I am very happy that I chose your company, and will STRONGLY, even aggressively, recommend you to anyone needing to go somewhere.

Avner is one of the most professional and customer oriented business people I have dealt with in my 12 years in the US. He is always accessible via phone and email, which is very reassuring when one is trusting him with looking after all one’s worldly possessions – he even called to our home on July 4th!!
His team of packers/movers (Dora,Jesus and team) were very courteous and professional. All of our belongings were moved into storage by your DA partner in Dublin – this team was also very professional.
Our household items are well packaged so hopefully we will find all intact when we move into our new home in a few months time. I have recommended Moving Star to other friends who are relocating to Ireland.

Thanks for your follow up interest. I am happy to report that every aspect of the move went smoothly. Even when a couple of our artwork pieces were seized by New Zealand Immigration for pest contamination the matter was handled efficiently by both the local agent and the government people and the goods are back in our hands bug-free.
Moving Star’s part of the move went especially well. Your advance attention to the move details was appreciative and paid off on the day of the move. The pick up of our grand piano from Cabrillo College required some special effort, not only in organizing the removal in advance, but working with the school class schedule on the day of the move. On the day of the move a minor glitch required your guys to hold back for a while due to school activities. They were cooperative and pleasant in accommodating this matter. My wife, who was present at the college, commented on how careful and professional your team was in handling this valuable instrument.
Again, the second stop of the move at our residence went just as smoothly. Because everything was crated, the pickup was a quick one. It was the only time I met your moving crew and I wish to echo my wife’s comments that they were extremely friendly, hard working, and good representatives for your company.
Finally, the local agent here in NZ who took delivery of the goods and handled the customs clearance was excellent. Like yourself, they made several advance calls to insure all the paperwork and delivery details were in order so that the customs clearance and delivery would go smoothly. All of the goods arrived in perfect condition, not a scratch. In fact, even the shipping crates were in new condition.
All three players in this move worked well as a team, Moving Star and World Moving (NZ) did a great job in handling the goods, and Rainier did everything we could have expected in coordinating the entire process, including the sea freight services. Rainier has a difficult job handing over their responsibilities to a number of other companies worldwide. In our experience, they selected their partners well.

Hello Dave !
Everything worked perfect. We came back to Sweden in the beginning of April and the container arrived without problem to Norrköping port in the end of April.
The customs cooperate 100 % and we did all of the paperwork by ourselves. We hired a truck who loads the container and we got it very close to our storage.
When we open up the container everything was unharmed. We can just thank you for all help. We will absolutely recommend You to all people we know who have to send something overseas.

I was meaning to write you. We are here and well…. our house is SMALL!! So, we are kind of shuffling deck chairs on the titanic right now and one couch didn’t fit into any opening of our house. So we now have the most expensive garden furniture in all of England. Storage units are made for people like us, I am sure.
The service and the move were exceptional and I would love to thank you and tell everyone about your services. That being said, if and when we move back we will be using Rainier in the future. In fact, our stuff arrived in England before we were able to get our TV (ultimately broken) from Seattle to Boston via UPS. So, that was amusing.
The one question that we were unsure about is… were the packing materials supposed to be removed after we unpacked? They did take away some paper, but not the majority… We are now stuck with a lot of paper and no real means of disposing of it- particularly the wrapping for our furniture. We also seem to have escaped major damage thus far, although we have not unpacked completely. We have had one broken glass and a dinged up lamp that we fixed, so that was not an issue. I hope that we fared as well with the pictures. I will let you know if there is any damage on that front.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I spent last week in Berlin and only unpacked most of the furniture over the weekend.
1. Rainier I am very appreciative of your efforts particularly when we appeared to be confused in the UK over the exact locations. The process and service you have provided was very good. Thank you. I am sure I will be in contact when I return to the US in 2009.
2. McGarity [Packing and Transport] The Pennsylvania crew did a very effective job in packing all the goods and effects. The packing has been very good in protecting all the furniture , chairs and beds etc. To date we have seen no damages to the furniture [I still have to unpack the pictures but they appear to be fully intact.
The kitchen plates and glasses we have examine dare all well packed and we appear to have no breakages.
Only minor effect is the bending of some shelving points (6) but these can be easily replaced and are probably linked to the transhipping to container or otherwise.
The crew were, as I have become to expect were helpful, courteous and hard working. They did a great job on a hot day.
3. EUROUSA International Movers
The local movers, actually completed all the move very well after the original confusion over ‘Smith’s and the container location’. Clearly this was compromised by fact that we were dealing with 3 different agents Jon, Lisa and ?
Lisa did a good job once we were all on the same page.
The delivery crew (whom I didn’t meet) according to my parents and neighbours did a good job in moving all the stuff according to my listing to the respective rooms. We did not have them unpack anything due to the option of re-shipping some of the furniture onward to our London apartment in June. The only report of damage came form the delivery driver with the vehicle who cited damage to the alloy wheel. This will be reviewed with the local garage when I get the car configured for UK requirements at the end of May.

Rich Haas (richh@rainieros.com) was great and responsive and always kept us up to date on everything even though we were already in Germany. The pick up went flawlessly (though we did need to have relatives available at the storage unit to oversee the pickup, luckily we had an aunt and uncle in the area) the shipment took longer than expected by nearly two weeks but I can’t fault Rainier for that (altogether it was about 6 weeks door to door). The company that Rainier hired to deliver on this side (ITO) was also more than fantastic. Not ONE item was damaged or missing, not a single one. The movers were very friendly and punctual to within 5 minutes of their delivery time estimate even though they hauled everything from Bremen to Nuremberg (an overnight drive) during a snow storm to do it.
ITO’s moving crew also reassembled the furniture that we asked them too without any complaints and did so very quickly. We had a relatively small move, everything fit into a small apartment, but it went swimmingly considering that it had to be organized from Germany and documents needed to be sent and signed and all that fun stuff (everything was handled through telephone, email and fax).
All in all, we lost our deposit from the first company we contacted (Global Ocean) and paid more than we’d hoped, but in retrospect we paid a very fair price in the end, we’d hoped to get away with paying an unrealistic price at first, but it’s true what they say, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Beware of unrealistically low prices is all I can say after this experience. I can not recommend Rainier and Rich Haas enough. Rich always followed up with me to give me progress reports even if I didn’t explicitly ask for one and was willing to do everything we asked of them. We didn’t have to repack in Wisconsin before the pickup which was something we expected to have to do and expected to have to pay a good amount more for that service so that was nice as well. The quote that Rainier gave was almost a thousand less than the next lowest bid so cost was also outstanding overall.
I would absolutely go with Rainier again if I ever had to do another overseas move my experience was really top notch.
